Torah Cycle Review with Brother George Wheeler

( please include George and Family in you Prayers. Brother George is a rare High Tolerance Machinist with a local company whom manufactures life saving 'Regulator' components for our current Pandemic !   As George continues to work 'For ALL of Us'  we ask for Health Protection Prayers for he and his Family, as we do for ALL of the FRONT LINE Protectors during this 'Change of Season' epidemic which we fervently Pray will be causative of UNITY in MESSIAH, for HIS impending RETURN.)

Shimini (שְּׁמִינִי) “Eighth”  #8066
Leviticus 9:1 – 11:47
2 Samuel 6:1 – 7:17
Hebrews 7:1 – 19
In Leviticus 10:1 we pick up immediately from Leviticus 9 where the Mishkan is completed, the priests ordained and the sacrifices made. The Glory of the LORD appeared to all and consumed the burnt offerings with fire. Nadab (נָדָב) “Generous”, and Abihu (אֲבִיהוּא) “My father is he” the two eldest sons of Ahron, Perhaps in the troughs of Zealous worship or maybe they were drunk (given that this account is followed by Leviticus 10:8), dared to offer incense that the LORD our God did not instruct them to offer. This (אֵשׁ זָרָהash zarah)“Strange Fire” on which they offer Incense was so grave an offense that the LORD burned Nadab and Abihu to death. In Leviticus 10:3 we see the economy of words used throughout the Scripture as Moshe speaks to Ahron “This is what the LORD has said: Among those who are near to me I will be sanctified and before all the people I will be glorified” and Ahron held his peace. We are not privy to the actual words between Ahron and Moshe, only the LORD’s response to the incident which is sufficient to silence Ahron.
This Parshah ends with the Koshrut (כַּשְׁרוּת) #3787 the dietary law. It is in this chapter we also find an enlarged Vav in Leviticus  11:42  in the word “gachon” (גָּחוֹן) #1512, meaning belly. This vav is considered by some the center, or the belly of the Torah.

SHABBAT  SHALOM !
