As we count the OMER , .....

The Biblical Command to Count the Omer

LEVITICUS 23:16 & DEVARIM/DUETERONOMY 16:0

Tomorrow evening marks the end of 7 days, and is the culmination of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. (Amen!) These verses command us to count seven weeks from the time that the OMER, the new Feast of First Fruits barley offering, was brought in the Temple, i.e., from the sixteenth of Nissan. We begin our count on the second night of Passover and continue until Shavuot, ... the Feast of Weeks/Pentecost, which is the fiftieth day after the offering.

As we count these days, we spend time in very personal 'introspection' and ready our hearts and souls just as the disciples did as they waited in the Upper Room per Yeshua/Jesus' instruction just prior to His ascension. The disciples readied themselves for the Fathers promise of His 'Comforter', His Ruach ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit), which took His 'God With Us' blessing given at Mount Sinai to an even stronger blessing of being 'God "IN" Us'

This practice isn’t about legalism or trying to “be Jewish.” It’s about entering the rhythms that God Himself designed — rhythms that center us in His timing, His story, and His presence.

When we count the Omer:

We pause daily to remember what God has done We prepare our hearts to hear from Him again

We practice expectancy for what’s ahead — just as the early disciples did upon our Messiah's instruction to await the Father's promised comforter.

This season becomes a reset — a spiritual spring cleaning between deliverance and divine appointment.

The Counting of the Omer is a significant biblical practice that aligns with the events of Jesus' life and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Yeshua/Jesus rose from the dead on the day the Omer count began, and the Holy Spirit was poured out on the 50th day, fulfilling the prophecy of Shavuot/Pentecost.

Joyful Traditions and Food: Far from a time of deprivation, Passover is celebrated with joy and creativity in food preparation. Matzah takes center stage, with various forms and inventive uses representing not only manna but the sinless life of our Messiah as blameless or spotless,

Symbolism of the Seder Plate: The Seder plate holds key symbols of the Exodus story, from the matzah to the bitter herbs. The Afikomen, with all it's 'Messianic' representations is hidden and sought by children, adds an element of excitement and reward.

A Prayer for the Future: The Seder concludes with the hope for the future, encapsulated in the phrase “Next year in Jerusalem.” It signifies not just a longing for a physical place but a vision for a world where justice and freedom in our King Messiah prevail.

In essence, Passover is more than a commanded remembrance of an event; it’s a lived experience connecting generations, fostering reflection, and inspiring hope for a soon return of our Messiah, Yeshua/Jesus.

Not only did Yeshua/Jesus celebrate Passover every year, but He is prophetically pictured in the Passover meal itself.

What does Passover and Yeshua/Jesus’ Last Supper have in common?

Messianic Pastor William (bill) Bayliss and the United In Messiah family, will answer that question as we celebrate the Father's command to gather as a family and memorialize this biblical ordained Holy Day meal in reflection of His deliverance of Israel from the cruel bondage of Egypt. ... (just as prophesied)
This command was recognized by our Lord and Messiah Himself and the Early Acts Church, as Yeshua/Jesus is the very Fulfillment of this Holy day prophecy whom freely offered His Life and Blood and paid the sin debt ransom on behalf of all who believed in and walked with Him as our Messiah and Passover Lamb.
Our celebration Seder/Dinner service will bring to life the Jewish roots of faith in Yeshua/Jesus as well as the celebration of His Last 'PASSOVER' meal with His disciples and His breaking bread command, ... known by many as Communion.
Enjoy and participate in an authentic 'Early Acts Church' Jewish Passover Seder with a Passover table set up and all of the traditional elements involved in the Passover meal. During the service you will see how Jewish and Gentile believers celebrate Passover today, how the symbolic foods of Passover picture God’s redemption, and how our Messiah Yeshua/Jesus is beautifully foreshadowed in the Passover celebration and story.
Our Passover Community Seder Dinner will bring new insights and revelation through the Jewishness of our Messiah, ... the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Included in cover charge is an official 'Hagaddah' Seder Guide to participate with and to take home for future family Passover Seders with full participation seder plates on each intimate table.
