Hello friend,
Heartbreak, and joy — all in one. This is what our Joseph Project teams are experiencing every single day, as they answer the menace of COVID-19 — with love . . . The love of Yeshua (Jesus), expressed through your generosity.
Hundreds of thousands of Jewish families have lost their jobs and income. The poor were already at risk; then came COVID — and their suffering intensified. Multitudes of Jewish people were already living on the edge, just above the poverty line; then the pandemic roared through Israel, the economy collapsed, and they plunged into poverty as well.
Now Israel is caught in the grip of the pandemic’s “second wave.” For many, the agony is almost beyond description. Yet there is hope — because there are caring people like you, praying faithfully and giving generously. And our teams — even though they are heartbroken to see how deeply the people of Israel are hurting — get up every day and press on, ministering face to face, heart to heart, with joy . . . because they see how God uses your gifts to give real hope to men, women, and children all over Israel.
If I could somehow show you the entire nation of Israel, all at once, so you could see all the ministries you enable by giving to MJAA, you would be astonished. With your support, we’ve delivered more than $3.6 million worth of aid to people in need all across Israel!
I wish I could tell you that this was all it took for the Jewish people to survive the pandemic. But Israel is now desperately battling its way through the second wave.
Hospitals are overrun; emergency rooms and coronavirus wards are full to overflowing. In the space of a single month, Israel went from 124 nurses quarantined for virus exposure to more than 750. Those nurses who are still able to work are overwhelmed by what have been called “impossible working conditions.”
Israel is A NATION IN CRISIS. But there is still hope. You can make a difference. You can pray, and you can give. If you do, our teams will continue joyfully delivering aid ... easing suffering ... offering hope ... saving lives.
We absolutely CANNOT allow ourselves to be “weary in well doing.” Because if we rest now — if we pause, or God forbid, if we give up — men, women, and children will suffer and even die. Will you please give a generous tax-deductible contribution to MJAA right now?
I have heard some speak of “compassion fatigue.” I understand this feeling. The pandemic has gone on a long time, much longer than anyone wanted. But we must not turn a blind eye to those in urgent need.
Our calling to bless Israel (Genesis 12:3) has not expired. God does not get “compassion fatigue.” James 1:27 tells us, “Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for the orphans and widows in their distress” (TLV).
Caring for those less fortunate is true Godliness and should define our lives as followers of the God of Israel and the Messiah Yeshua. I hope to hear from you quickly. The people of Israel need your support right away. So many men, women, and children are struggling in Israel right now.

And may God bless you richly for your sacrifice of love for the Jewish people!
For the restoration of Israel,
