In Numbers 12:1 Miriam and Aaron speak out against Moshe with two complaints 1. That he married a Cushite woman. 2. That they (Miriam and Aaron) are also prophets.

These two objections may stem from the choosing of the seventy elder in Numbers 10:16.

Now it was not on account of Moshe’s marriage with her that they spoke against him, for that had happened in Midian many years ago, but rather because of a suspicion they had entertained, that she had influenced Moshe in the choosing of the seventy elders, for they were angry with Moshe himself; they were angry because he not consulted them and chose whom he pleased.  Though they were careful not to put the blame entirely on Moshe and included his wife in the charge.
